It’s got a great location near a lot of transportation, fun bars, the park, and not a terrible price for the area.
Cons:
Pest control is minimal and maintenance is slow.
Advice to owner:
Have a better maintenance system

Not bad but not good

Pros:
In the heart of East Village, this was a steal for a first time New Yorker. If you’re committed to living alone, this space is small but it does the trick and has a true bedroom of a decent size! I rarely ever heard noise in the building but could also attribute that to having good neighbors. Pet friendly building! laundry in the building on the basement level was a nice add on. Surprised and impressed with how efficient and helpful MetroNest was when I reached out about getting out of my lease early.
Cons:
The stairs suck. They are narrow and steep so be prepared for a miserable move-in and move-out especially if you are on a higher floor. Maintenance takes absolutely forever to fix anything if they ever do fix it at all. They’re rarely responsive to anything. East Village is always lively and fun for young people but the surrounding area and Tompkins Square Park have significantly decreased in being desirable places to hang out due to the constant homeless people and drug addicts roaming the place and yelling and leaving drug paraphernalia everywhere (I’m not talking weed, I’m talking heroine needles). That was a major turn off for me.
