Very close to Riverside Park, dog park, running track, etc. Right by an express subway stop. Renovated apartments with washer, drier, dishwasher, etc. Near tons of great shopping, theater, restaurants, JCC gym/pool, etc. Despite all of this it’s a pretty calm and quiet street (for NYC of course…). Good response to maintenance issues. An email sent at 11pm resulted in the super showing up the next morning multiple times. My roommates room was cold, mine was always burning hot. Management did buy him a space heater when he complained, although we had to pay for the electricity…
Cons:
Definitely can hear your neighbors fairly well. Management is unresponsive and rude when dealing with lease renewal or resident changes. Sounded like there were rats in my wall (squeaks and scratching at night). I did find a dead cockroach when returning from a trip. However, sealed off some cracks with tape and never had a pest problem other than some ants at one point. Unit also came furnished, however there was gum stuck to my bed frame at move in.
