Close to trains, one of the bedrooms is pretty big
Cons:
- Horrible management that won’t help with anything serious - Ceiling collapsed multiple times (after we told them multiple times we had safety concerns regarding the ceiling and they continually ignored us) - There was a bed bug issue that lasted 3+ months because they did the bare minimum and barely bothered to help (even though they were aware of it being a problem in other units/buildings next door before it reached us and did not do anything to prevent it from spreading). We had to schedule pest control ourselves because they continually dropped the ball on making sure it was handled properly - Front door to the building randomly stops locking properly and they refuse to fix it even after a break in occurred
Advice to owner:
Listen to your tenants when they have safety concerns
-2 streets away from multiple train lines -huge living room, big kitchen, great shower water pressure, beautiful tall ceilings -responsive super -rent under market value -only 2 neighbors plus a business on the 1st floor
Cons:
-property management is just okay -occasional pest issues (had bed bugs once, roaches a few times), but management did respond to the problem and we haven’t seen bugs in a while. Honestly nothing any different from any building you’ll live in in NYC. -old building - apartments can be hot just open the windows, bad paint jobs, etc anything you’d expect from a pre-war building. I am not bothered by these things. Just don’t expect an Instagram ready apartment.
Advice to owner:
More serious management of pests/proactive maintenance, respond to emails better
