-Lots of newly renovated apartments, which are very nice and have mostly good appliances -Big windows -Washer/dryer in unit -Amazing value for the price -Water, heat, and gas are all included -rent-controlled!
Cons:
-The apartments are very long, so even though there’s decent space, it’s a bit cramped and hard to create a living area -Also the window in my apartment is far from the bedroom, so no natural light in the bedroom (although it has big glass doors to allow the light to still come in a bit) -Heat is controlled by pipes, so can’t turn it off if the building makes it too hot in the winter -while the water doesn’t usually get too cold, it does go in and out a bit in terms of staying hot -the biggest annoyance was that I had a gas stove when I moved in, but then the gas went out for 4 months. The building eventually replaced our gas stoves with electric ones, but offered no compensation during this entire period of being unable to cook. I asked multiple times and they always pushed me off (and the building is owned by a company that is difficult to speak directly to). There are many minor annoyances like this that either never get fixed or take a long time. -Also I hate the electric stove, personally
Advice to owner:
Do more regular check ups to ensure everything is working in the building (like the front doors), replace the bad electric stoves with higher quality ones
