adorable little apartment. the block was amazing and tree lined so it was beautiful during the summer. target is around the corner, tons of good food, there was a man that sold shaved ice in a dixie cup for a dollar all summer long, skatepark on the corner and a pool that you can see in the park right from the bedroom windows. not sure if roof access was allowed but we went up anyways and it was really nice. not sure if it’s still this way but there was a maintenance man specifically for our building. we were given his personal phone number so he was easy to get in contact with when something needed fixing. there was an exterminator who would come from time to time to spray the apartment. this apartment had its flaws but overall I really enjoyed my time here.
Cons:
just like most nyc apartments, there were bugs here and there. mainly in the building but I saw maybe 1 or 2 in the unit when I lived there. the apartment had its quirks for sure. the power would go out in half the apartment if you used the microwave at the same time as the washer. there was a period of time where the shower was only letting out scalding hot water and the only way to cool it down was to turn on the hot water in the bathroom sink. the toilet would break any time you were away from the apartment for a period of 2 or more days. there’s no ac so of course it was crazy hot unless you got an air conditioner in the summer. and in the winter you have no control of the heat and the pipes that give off heat that go from the floor to the ceiling get majorly hot, so I kept the window open all winter.
