Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews for 251 West 109 Street in Manhattan highlight a charming location with some pleasant neighbors. However, serious concerns arise regarding rat and roach infestations, delayed maintenance responses (often over a month), and negligent management prioritizing profit over resident well-being. Additionally, issues such as poor pest control, mold, and fire violations reflect poorly on the management's responsiveness. While the neighborhood and immediate community may have their own appeal, the building's living experience seems significantly marred by these critical drawbacks, making it challenging to recommend this location for potential renters.

Rat Filled Block
Former Tenant
Pros:

Cons:
- the entire block is entirely rat infested and the city and landlords don’t care - there is a roach problem in the building

Nice place, terrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
- neighbours are mostly nice and courteous to each other - beautiful location right next to Broadway and the 110th subway stop - doesn’t get too loud at night - mostly older people, families, and Columbia students
Cons:
- management and maintenance is horrible; took them over a month to fix maintenance requests multiple times - management does not care about resident’s concerns; all they care about is $$$ - this part of W 109th St in particular is infested with RATS. The whole street to the stoops are filled with them. You will hear people screaming out on the street at night as they try to walk through all the rats running on the sidewalk - a children’s playground is across the street, you will hear them screaming and playing all morning and afternoon during weekdays
Advice to owner:
Care about your residents. I doubt you will as you’re a corporate owner, but pretend to care just a little about cleanliness, price, and maintenance.
