So many issues
Pros
Nice Super, quiet,
Cons
Appliances and toilet needed replacing, plumbing always backs up and there are power issues. Circuits keep blowing but it is either a master or weird wiring bc you can’t fix it without the Super. Windows are super drafty, it has an energy rating of D. Radiators are not evenly dispersed. Heating pipes running through apartment are hot/ dangerous. Lots of package theft bc intercoms don’t work well. Building is rent controlled/ stabilized so they market to students who will leave after a year and not complain. Have to mail in rent, no electronic transfer or website. The lease contract is a thousand years old.
Advice to the owners
Stop being so cheap. Get stuff fixed.
It will do
Pros
The units are nice sizes. The super is generally responsive although not always timely. Rent hasn’t been raised an extraordinary amount, The noise level is pretty good. Management readily abates rent when there are issues.
Cons
The heat is definitely hit or miss depending on room/time of day etc. Units could use some upgrades, as could the hallways. Packages are often stolen, no camera in the lobby. There also isn’t a camera at the front door, antiquated buzzer system. Management is not responsive to these issues (though the super is!).
Advice to the owners
It may be time to upgrade the elevator, as well as the building security systems.
