Would you recommend this building if you’re moving into a newly renovated unit on a higher floor?

Nope. Rented a completely renovated unit between the 30th and 35th floor. While it appears new and shiny, there are microscopic ants that find their way into the apartment (a nuisance). tenants or non tenants smoke weed in the stairwell which seeps into your apartment. If you don’t mind smelling weed all the time this is a non issue. Packages can be stolen from in front of apt door as well (if lock boxes are full, delivery will be left at your door). Pros: proximity to park and train, maintenance is timely with repairs, some neighbors were very nice

The people who work for the building are responsive and professional

Cons

Roaches. It’s infested with roaches. Market rate for roaches is insane and shouldn’t be legal. Pest control will come every 2 weeks and roaches persist. I just moved in and I can’t wait to move tf out. Don’t let the renovations (which are poorly done) and 2 months free rent fool you. This place is lipstick on a pig.

Advice to the owners

Fumigate the entire fucking building before you charge market rate.

Does this building still have rodents and pest issues?

It absolutely does. There’s twice a month exterminator service that does absolutely nothing because the landlord isn’t addressing the root cause of any of it and there’s nothing an exterminator can do about it. The last service we had the exterminator mentioned that they found over 100 roaches in the apartment above us and he came down assuming we needed service too (which we did). Just check the 311 complaints and you’ll see it’s ongoing.

Nope. Don’t think they can. I believe it’s related to all the work being down on the exterior of the apartment. Also ask about exterior renovations before you move in. I was unable to open any windows for 6 months due to the exterior work. Was not warned about this prior to signing a lease.

Nope. They send an exterminator twice a month thay you have to sign up for, manually at the front desk. The exterminator is an awesome guy, and he tries to help, but there’s only so much he can do. The problem is the construction and trash. Building management lines the exterior of the building with trash for DAYS and it smells awful and is a nest for rats and insects. I’ve lived in NYC all of my life and never have I had this many insects in an apartment. Do not move here.
