Cute boutique in Chelsea
Pros
Staff is top-notch. Neighbors are respectful. Overall, excellent boutique doorman building. Maintenance requests are handled same-day! Live-in super.
Cons
every year, they attempt to raise the rent 15% or more. if you’re looking for a longterm place to live, look elsewhere because they will price you out within 2-4 years. Had a small mouse issue and they weren’t that helpful other than setting glue traps. The hallways could use some updating as well as flooring in bathrooms and kitchens. Some corners are cut on maintenance requests, but it’s not a big deal. There is constantly facade work on the building, meaning the scaffolding is never being taken down.
Advice to the owners
Update hallways with new carpeting, lighting and paint! stop the insane rent increases
Great location terrible landlord
Pros
Location is great, staff are friendly, boutique building where neighbors are friendly, 1 block to subway
Cons
Washing machines broke often or were in use. Landlord did work on building without tenant protection plan. Several residents got sick. I thought I had a weird cough or asthma (this was a year before Covid) and then found several neighbors all developed the same symptoms in the same timeline. Upon move out they do not return security deposit within the timeline defined by the law and do not give interest owed as indicated in rental agreement. Gym equipment is old. Water is often brown.
Advice to the owners
Take care of the property
