Landlord and his wife are characters . Former tenant in this property for about year and here’s what I can tell you about it ; *It’s INFESTED with rats and mice (in the actual apartments) because the landlord has a a habit of letting the garbage pile up for weeks around the house and stores it sometimes in the basement *landlord has ZERO construction experience , but rather than hire a contractor , he attempts to do all “repairs” on his own . While doing the “repairs” he will ruin all your furniture and can careless about using drop clothes or cleaning up after he leaves *if a tenant moves out of a unit in the building (which happens every few months ) he will start demo work with heavy machinery at 7am-10pm on weekends , and doesn’t care if it interrupts his tenants with the noise volumes *roof needs to be replaced ,so expect constant leaks if it rains in your kitchen , living room and bedrooms *they never give sufficient heat during the winter because according to the landlord “it cost too much to keep the boiler at 68degrees” So expect to have the apartment at 55 degrees or lower during winter months Or purchase an electric heater at your own cost as I had to *pay attention to your electric bill because landlord will put the household general lighting such as outside hallway light and basement light onto your bill hoping you won’t notice *house currently has 15-20 hpd violations and 6 dept of buildings violations
Advice to the owners
Treat your tenants better , they are the ones who pay your mortgage
