Parkchester is Home
Pros
Parkchester resident from 2016 to 2021. Had a one bed with remodeled kitchen and old model bath. Moved to be closer to work, but Parkchester is a great community for families and people who want a nice neighborhood. Can pay rent online, can now make maintenance requests online. Still a little bureaucratic but compared to other landlords I've had, it felt like it would get taken care of. Lots of green space. Good grocery stores, a Dunkin, Starbucks, Zaros, City MD, Marshall's and Macy's. Very affordable rent and the size out apartment was great. Elevator buildings.
Cons
Far from Manhattan, not dog friendly. No grassy places to sit on. Can be confusing to determine where to dispose of garbage and recycling which can result in tickets. Requires particular AC units and must pay for installation (although they are high grade AC units that I am now grateful I bit the bullet on and bought.
Advice to the owners
Allow pets! Tables in outside areas would be wonderful in addition to benches - would have made COVID more bearable.
