neighbor issues and repairs not addressed
Pros
very charming details, close to transportation, close to parks,
Cons
landlord does not keep the building in good repair so when something goes wrong it's already at an emergency level like: burst pipes, gas leaks, broken stove. Landlord does nothing about nuisance tenants: smoking (it's a non smoking building), excessive noise and stomping causing cracks in plaster ceiling, prostitutes visiting one neighbor, vomit in the vestibule, roaches in hallway. My neighbors were fantastic when I moved in Jan 2019. But neighbor turnover has been high since the pandemic and each new tenant is worse than the last one. Examples: a wealthy couple rented one of the apartments to use as a preschool for their kid and 6 of his toddler friends during the height of Covid. Their babysitter and her boyfriend moved in when they were told they couldn't do that, and they were so filthy it caused a roach infestation in my apartment. They also stomped so hard it caused cracking in my ceiling. Now there is a creepy man who hires prostitutes (I've seen them fold up their money as they leave his apartment after an hour) and stomps around so hard it shakes my furniture and the plaster on my ceiling is flaking off.
Advice to the owners
We pay you a lot of money to live here. What are you doing with that money? Take care of the building. Vet the new tenants.
