A perfect apartment with a crazy landlady
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful historic detailing throughout apartment. Tin ceilings, wall moulding, well kept wood floors. Great natural light.

Quiet street, close to multiple grocery stores, close to subway.
Cons:
The landlady lives in the building, she is retired and is always around. Initial impression is she's a little kooky but means well. In reality, she doesn't treat people right, is paranoid of everyone, and becomes manic in the evening and takes it out on you.

If you get any deliveries that aren't from UPS or USPS (that come at the same time every day) she will panic. I got groceries delivered once and before the delivery guy could unload everything to ring my door, the landlady had come outside and was yelling at him and picked up my grocery bags and threw them on the ground. When I came down to remedy the situation she threatened to throw out my food.

Another time I got furniture delivered and was waiting outside for it. She heard the truck and comes outside and yelled at me for not telling her I was expecting something and she doesn't want strangers in her home.

I got a Postmates delivery around 7pm, I was waiting by the front door for him, and she comes upstairs with a knife because she thought I was an intruder.

She threatened to kick me out because she thought I didn't move out of the way for a mail person to come up the front stairs. I hadn't left my apartment the day of the "incident" and never blocked a mail person.

She watched as we entered and exited the house.

She always stops you in the hall to complain about everything. You can't avoid her, she's always around.

She asked for my new address when I told her I was moving out, when I didn't give it to her she said that she had ways of finding me online. She also threatened not to return my security deposit because she was offended I didn't want to disclose my new information.

Literally everything about this apartment is amazing, but not worth having to live in the same building as her.
