Nice neighborhood, bad landlord

Pros

The apartment is in okay shape and the neighborhood is nice

Cons

Landlord is extremely unresponsive and volatile. Hires the cheapest workers and then rips them off. Doesn’t fix basic things.

Nice, newly renovated units on a beautiful tree-lined street

Cons

Was forced to leave the apartment at the end of my lease due to an ongoing roach infestation that the landlord refused to address. When I provided her with a hardship affidavit saying I could not afford rent due to Covid, she threatened to sue me. I didn’t have heat for two months, including while I was recovering from Covid. Landlord is currently being sued by tenants across multiple buildings.
