The street it is on is amazing, filled with interesting friendly people. The block party is literally the best in the neighborhood. The building and apartment look on the surface decent. The rent stays very stable. Never changed in our time there. One of the land lords is friendly, unfortunaley also incompetent. Also i still don't understand why you would own 7 cars in Brooklyn and park them on the street. Insane amount of work moving and maintaining them.
Cons:
Where do I even fucking start? For the first few months everything was all hunky dory. Then things took a severe turn for the worst. We had every pest imaginable. First the roaches, small German ones and large American. I spent hours sealing up every crack and crevice (which the land lord forbid me to do but it's not structural so I could anyway) and I still sometimes caught site of them. Then of course centipedes and ants. There were also a few mice we had to contend with. Then we had an outbreak of bed bugs. There was also an infestation of rats outside our window fucking/fighting all the time. Also many maintenance issues. The building and apartment are old. Some of the work was not very professionally done. I had to fix every single door in there as they were falling off their hinges when we moved in. The lamp was not grounded in the bathroom and could shock you. These and other things we had asked to fix and some of them did get fixed in a duct tape kind of way but others I wound up doing myself or hiring out for. Then the absolute rudest and psychotic behavior of the one of the landlords. Who must have spent hours crafting page long texts to us complaining about the smallest minor issues. Calling us condescending and writing text after text of most incoherent aggressive nonsense. I finally blocked the number and let my wife receive these monologs. Not to mention not returning our security deposit, we had to take them to small claims court. Also they're not vaccinated, over 60 and barely if ever wore a mask during covid. So here's some free advice, stay away from this apartment. Save your money.
