- Fun block with good neighbors - Close to subway + Prospect Park - Lots of space
Cons:
- Unresponsive landlord; refused to fix broken things in apartment for nearly a year - Arbitrary building rules implemented whenever landlord felt like it - Landlord repeatedly lied about status of things in building - Saw mice every few months, landlord refused to do anything about it or even acknowledge it was a problem - Landlord regularly reprimands tenants for no reason
Advice to owner:
- Learn to communicate like a normal person. - Stop treating tenants like subhumans. - Address problems in the building ASAP.

Truly terrible owner/landlord—avoid at all costs
Former Tenant
Pros:
This is a great neighborhood and extremely kid-friendly as it's close to the park, playgrounds, etc. The other people who live on the block are very nice and this apartment is close to the subway and other life necessities.
Cons:
The landlord/owner of this building is an absolutely horrible person. She is also 100% doing something illegal here, insisting on interviewing prospective tenants after they've submitted applications and choosing whichever one she prefers during the interview process even though rentals in New York are legally supposed to go to the first qualified applicant. She treats tenants like second-class citizens and paid/skilled labor even worse. She insists that the only way to communicate with her is to leave written notes in her mailbox and then she will either ignore the note and never respond or read it, put it back in the mailbox and surround it with junk mail so it looks like she hasn't read it yet. Her "house rules" are extreme and asinine—for example, she is the ONLY ONE allowed to open the double front doors—and she expects tenants to handle general building upkeep like trash and snow removal without supplying the proper equipment to do so. She's cruel, incompetent and negligent, and should not be allowed to have tenants.
Advice to owner:
Stop being a landlord. You are bad at it. You treat your tenants like garbage for no reason other than your insane whims and create a hostile living environment on an otherwise wonderful block.
