Lived in a rent stabilized unit here for 2 years.
Pros
Not sure if they got new management or something, but management used to be incredibly frustrating to deal with - and towards the last year of my lease, suddenly they were very friendly and responsive. Overall reflect fondly on my time living here, and I got my security deposit back easy peasy. The neighborhood was very convenient, and neighbors were kind.
Cons
Our electric bill was always insanely high every month. Wonder if our unit wasn't properly insulated or something.
New and modern made cheap
Pros
Right next to the J/M train. Modern appliances. Beautiful rooftop view. Pet friendly. Decent living space (at least for me) Wash/dry in building. Gym in building. Super is amazing and helpful and lives in the building. People are really nice (besides my new neighbor) Really nice receptionist when calling management. Right next to a hospital. Overall love my apt but could be wayyy better.
Cons
Walls are still thin enough to hear my neighbors when they leave and come home. My neighbor and her dog barking at 2 am . The crackheads yelling at 3 am. Fireworks at 4 am. The cars blazing their horns at 7 am. The building is very cheaply made, lots of cracks in the walls. Windows will leak in hot summer air or cold winter air. Things break easily. The shower pressure is the worst! Even though dogs aren’t allowed on the roof owners still bring them up and they poop everywhere and it smells bad. Management response quick but react slower. The wash/dry is also very cheap and has broken down/ ruined my clothes a few times. Plus $10 for a card! Not a completely safe neighborhood/ right next to the projects. No good food around. (McDonald’s, Popeyes, Taco Bell , etc only) Feel it’s over priced. Because of cracks in the building bugs find it easier to come in. MICE
Advice to the owners
Don’t be so cheap/ money hungry.
