Not a great experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great finishes. Lighting comes in both ends of the apartment year round. The neighborhood and location are amazing. The neighborhood is historically black (although currently being gentrified). The neighbors are kind and helpful. Restaurants, grocery, bars, gym, and stores are extremely walkable. Express trains and buses are within 2 blocks. Very easy to get to the city or other neighborhoods like Bed Stuy, Downtown Brooklyn, Flatbush.
Cons:
The apartments are very nice looking but there a lot of surface level repairs that let all hell break loose when we first moved in.

To start, our lease was issued with numerous errors (wrong lease terms, apartment number, typos, etc.). They gave us the wrong keys upon signing and we could not get in contact with anyone despite the office saying it was open. There were a number of urgent maintenance issues early on as well. Water damage in the ceiling, water pressure issues, locks not functional on windows, appliances not working. We called the emergency maintenance and emailed the office weekly and never received replies. During winter months, we also did not have hot water or heat in the building due to the management/ownership not paying the bill (confirmed with ConEd). We'd been contacting the office everyday, multiple times a day for 8 days (and counting) and only gotten 1 response/phone call saying they were "doing everything they could." Follow ups with the utility company would prove this to be untrue. Violation reports were made to NYC311 and later marked as resolved even though the services were not restored in the building.

After leaving a google maps review, we were finally able to get in contact with the CEO who pressured other employees to responding to emails and addressing issues.
All the maintenance requests were addressed within 1 week of his involvement. We were also offered rent credit for 2 months to compensate for the entire drama of our first month in the building.

Prioritizing care and respect for the people who fund your business

do not live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
renovated and spacious apartments
Cons:
the landlord responds to nothing, your matinence requests will go unchecked unless you personally get the super’s attention, tons of bugs in the summer, flooding when it rains in the basement, neighbor hosts large parties and takes up the entire communal backyard with his belongings
Advice to owner:
sell the building to someone who will actually take care of the building and respond to tenants
