It’s ok I guess
Pros
3 bed 3 bath
Cons
Bed bugs, roaches, etc.
Advice to the owners
Throughly clean the building
Hell in a convenient spot
Pros
The neighbors have a great community vibe about them and it’s a great location to a couple of train stops from hot spots in Brooklyn. We get a washer and dryer in the basement for the first floor unit. The backyard space is nice. Every room has a bathroom getting your own personal bathroom while living with roommates is very convenient.
Cons
Since living here there’s been issue after issue that never gets all the way addressed correctly so it comes back up again. There’s been a pipe burst on 3+ occasions that flooded the basement with shit water and we had to throw out so much stuff. There’s no carbon monoxide detectors so there was a leak that lasted about 3 weeks and the only way it was found out was because of a random buildings department inspection and me and my roommates coughing our lungs out the whole time. A leak happened in a kitchen light due to molding. The heat was not working for months one year we were here. When our unit got bedbugs they wouldn’t cover the cost of all the treatments, only the chemical treatments which obviously can’t go on every item such as electronics. They would only treat our unit and none of the others in the building so the bedbugs are probably still around. Owners are very unresponsive and couldn’t care less about anything concerning tenants. Haven’t even spoken to the owner since I first signed the lease 3 years ago, every call is just with the person at the front desk. They only ever contact when it comes to something about money. Any issues we have they leave it solely on the super to deal with. We didn’t even get a copy of our lease when we got here.
Advice to the owners
First of all, the violations that were already here and hidden before we got here like the heat and pipes y’all should’ve never moved someone in in those conditions and you should be ashamed for taking advantage people in situations where they needed a place immediately. Stop letting the super put quick fixes on things and actually engage with tenants when there’s a problem so you know better solutions to get things permanently fixed instead of leaving every mess to him. At one point there was someone from the buildings department posting a new violation every other week. ACTUALLY GET THE ISSUES FIXED NOT TEMPORARY COVER UPS. Like at least TRY and act like you give a fuck about your tenants.
