Ugh just don’t.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Inside of the apartment was new. Honestly can’t think of a lot of pros.
Cons:
You’re let into the building with a door code. Guess what happens when a neighbor starts giving all their friends the code? Strangers coming in and out all the time with packages regularly stolen.

While the building looks new and stylish I saw that the beams under the stairs were starting to buckle in.

We asked management to change the door code but they never did.

Management only responsive when it comes to money. They know that since most of the tenants are young and don’t have a lot of money that the tenants don’t have a lot of recourse.

Had water leaking into the ceiling that I had to use a bucket to collect the water. Luckily after multiple people in our building kept complaining management finally sent repairmen.

Loud rooftop parties (especially during the summer) with people throwing their trash onto the fire escapes. I could hear a neighbor yelling at these people but they didn’t give a damn.

I only subletted my room for a few months (thank god) and was so happy to get out. I was there from February 2015 to August 2015.
Advice to owner:
Where to start. If you have tenants concerned about their safety and their packages are stolen, STEP UP AND CHANGE THE KEY CODE. Or better yet, install a key fob/manual key lock.

Building violations are public knowledge and you guys have MULTIPLE. Show some care.

It’s blatantly obvious is that your business plan is gut out an apartment building, fit as many rooms as possible in, lease out to young renters, then if they have any concerns ignore them unless it involves you guys losing money.

You are super disorganized.
