Pros:
The other tenants are great. Super kind people. The landlords/management were the nicest I’ve encountered in the city, which really says a lot about how horrible a lot of landlords are, because they weren’t perfect by any means. We got a Covid deal when we moved in so at the time, the price was great.
Cons:
No control over heat temperature. The heater is HOT. Only the first two floors have control over whether the heat is on or off, and even still, there is no way to change the temperature. When the heat is on at night even in the dead of winter we are sweating struggling to sleep it’s so hot.

There’s been mice. Landlord never helped with this problem. Cats did though. First time I’ve ever seen a rodent in an apartment since living in the city.

The breaker box is in the basement and only the first two units have access to it. So if the power goes out, which it does frequently when you use the microwave for two long since half of the apartment is on one breaker and half is on the other (ALL appliances are on one breaker), you have to go outside and get the key from the lockbox to unlock the downstairs and go all the way down to the basement to flip it, which is less than convenient. Absolutely nothing could be running but the lights in the kitchen and the fridge, and if you try to make some popcorn or something, the electricity on one whole side of the apartment is out. The landlord also seemed to not believe us on 3 different occasions when we said we didn’t have a breaker box in the actual unit.

Both skylights leak when it rains really hard. We had this “fixed” but it didn’t actually help.

There’s a lot of bugs. In any of the other apartments I’ve lived in in the city I’ve never seen this many bugs. Turn the fan on in the bathroom for the best chance of not having cockroaches crawl out of the drain.

This one isn’t the landlords fault but deliveries frequently end up next door. I cannot count the number of times a package or grocery order has ended up at 918 instead of 918A even with clear instructions. This was a super frustrating part of living here.

We moved out because for the amount they jacked the price up to, we found something significantly newer and nicer for nearly the exact same price.
Advice to owner:
The apartment really needs some TLC. I cleaned the apartment twice a week every week for two years and it barely made a difference. It’s old, worn down, and a lot of stuff needs to be replaced. Dust accumulates so quickly, so likely there’s a lot of filters that haven’t been replaced in a very long time. More breaker switches needed to be added, one switch shouldn’t be carrying the electricity of four appliances and entire 3 rooms.
