Criminal Landlord, mice and mold galore

Pros:
Nice backyard
Great location, close to good food
Neighbors were mostly cool
Rooms were decent size for BK

Cons:
Black mold was growing in the ceiling that management was too slow to fix, resulting in the ceiling falling out
Basement was constantly flooding, even into the unit

We had trouble paying rent in full during COVID. The landlord threatened to take us to court, spied on us, and organized the rest of the building against us despite the fact that he never registered the building properly and thus never had the right to charge us rent in the first place.

We had trouble paying rent in full during COVID. The landlord threatened to take us to court, spied on us, and organized the rest of the building against us despite the fact that he never registered the building properly and thus never had the right to charge us rent in the first place.
Advice to owner:
Clean up the damn mold. Before you threaten tenants with court action, make sure you’re following the law yourself. Don’t try to evict tenants in the middle of a global pandemic.
