We had rats, roaches, and holes in the ceiling big enough to stargaze through
Former Tenant
Pros:
The best thing about the building is the location, right off Myrtle and close to the navy yard. The building itself is in bad condition, poorly maintained, and overpriced
Cons:
I used to live in the upstairs unit and it was probably the worst apartment I’ve lived in ever. The floors were uneven to the point of being unsafe, the walls and ceilings were peeling, we had rats and roaches year around, and the ceiling in my bedroom had a hole that leaked constantly and was never actually fixed. Our downstairs neighbors said that pipes exploded in their unit causing flooding and the landlord didn’t fix anything or reimburse them for items that were ruined. We also never got our security deposit back - the owner Andrew is a complete crook and ghosted us completely.
Advice to owner:
You are legally obligated to repair the apartments that your tenants pay to live in - try fixing something and giving people their deposits back. You’re a crook
