    Ok at best - beware of management

    Pros:
    Rent was cheap for the area (pre-covid) and didn’t go up while I lived there. Had private balcony. Neighbors were good people.
    Cons:
    The landlord (who owns the auto body shop across the street) owns several buildings in disrepair across the city. He has anger issues and ignores maintenance problems as long as possible. When I lived there, there was mold in at least one of the 3 units and a ceiling leak in all the units (likely mold in all the walls of the building). We didn’t have heat in our unit for an entire year. Nothing was fixed until all the tenants approached management together. The windows in our unit were not properly finished, so there was a constant draft. Unit was also infested with ants when we moved in. Constant construction in a lot behind ours made noise levels very high. A housing inspector was shocked by how dangerous the ceiling leak was (water leaking through an overhead light fixture). The front door to the building is not self-locking or self-closing—many times I came home to find the door standing wide open. There is only one trash can available for the entire building and one small mailbox that doesn’t lock (meaning you have to look through everyone else’s mail to find yours).
    Advice to owner:
    Reassess how you interact with tenants and how you respond to maintenance issues.

    Pros:
    Has a balcony and is cheap
    Cons:
    Landlord is extremely unresponsive to doing repairs / maintenance. Does not clean common areas or take care of the building. Maintenance is done in a shoddy way.

    Take care of your building.
