Tiny & Pricey
Pros
Beautiful historic building in an amazing location. The place is extremely well taken care of by the super. Neighbors (in building and on block) are all kind & helpful. Close to transportation. Seamless move in and move out. Very few issues while living there and anything that did come up was dealt with swiftly and effectively.
Cons
Part of the charm of the studio was how tiny it was, but it was TINY and pricey. Definitely workable space and thank goodness for the shared outdoor space but rent did increase modestly after two years and I ended up moving to get more space for the same price. Had packages go missing once or twice. But hey, it’s New York.
Extremely old, dishonest landlord, mold, mosquitos
Pros
It’s a beautiful old building in a great neighborhood on a peaceful street. Most neighbors ate nice and quiet. Shared backyard is nice but very buggy in the summertime to the point you can’t go back there without 10 mosquito bites
Cons
I highly recommend not living here. The management company does not take care of the building at all. There are leaks on every floor, walls are crumbling and moldy inside apartments. Cesar is a horrible landlord with a bad temper who will lie to you and do everything in his power to screw you over. Not an honest person. You can have water dripping inside your apartment doe days before they get someone over there. Packages also get stolen frequently from INSIDE the building where the door is locked!! Management won’t review cameras if this happens so you’re basically on your own. Ground floor apartments are infested with mosquitos coming from inside the walls and infested with mold and leaks.
Advice to the owners
Take care of the building and treat tenants with respect.
