Love this old building
Former Tenant
Pros:
An oldie but a goodie, 200 Freeman is a brick walk up. It’s rent stabilized. The landlord is always very responsive, allows pets of all sizes and allows tenants to paint their units (provided they paint it back to white when they move out). He and the super keep our shared areas very clean. Sprays for pests 1x monthly. Reliable heat (steam vents). The mailboxes are inside the building, so rarely do we have any issues with theft. There’s a courtyard where you can store your bike(s). All trash is kept in a small hall that runs UNDER our building, so the first floor apartments don’t have garbage next to their windows. Good water pressure.
Cons:
It’s an OLD building, so unsurprisingly it has a few quirks: limited electrical outlets in every room, very small bathrooms (definitely not a “soaking” tub), no amenities in the building (this means no washer/dryer, no AC, no dishwasher, no off-street parking) but I think the rent prices are fair to reflect these lack of amenities.
Advice to owner:
None at this time. Very happy here!
