Has Pros but definitely some Cons
Former Tenant
Pros:
Big space, quiet street. Lots of sunlight in the street facing room. Never had issues with pests. While some neighbors were occasionally loud on weekends, nothing out of the ordinary for the neighborhood
Cons:
BASEBOARD HEATING. the electric baseboard heating is terrible and WILDLY expensive. it is the main reason im leaving. no heat in the hallways and you'll either freeze or go broke (and still kind of freeze)
Advice to owner:
Upgrade ya heat babe!

Definitely has its quirks!
Former Tenant
Pros:
For an older building, it is fairly well-maintained (but that is in comparison to apartments in general in New York). There is certainly room for improvement. Appliances are niceish. The app they use for maintenance is helpful when scheduling.
Cons:
The heat is really pretty terrible. The baseboard heaters are so expensive to run. We’ve had utility bills in the past for $600 to $800 (which is nothing compared to a few years ago the First Floor tenants hadn’t electricity bill for tens of thousands of dollars because someone left the heat on in the basement). I think that issue has been fixed since. Also, the electrical wiring is ancient. I had an LED light (low wattage) in my room that got toasted because of a surge.
Advice to owner:
Monthly cleanings of the hallway would be great. If there is someway to put laundry in the basement, that would also be awesome. Obviously, heat and ac are number one and suggest them looking into more sustainable, minimally invasive, and cost-effective solutions.
