EXTREMELY COLD DURING WINTER. Everything on electricity, literally paid almost $2K for one month's bill during winter. Cannot warm the entire apartment ever. Very narrow, they've chopped up the rooms to make them smaller and have more tenants. Truly gentrification at it's WORST. No responses from building managers. They do not care about their tenants. There's no phone number to call. They only work through email. YOU WILL BE JUST A NUMBER TO THEM. RENTER BEWARE.
Advice to owner:
Please be kind and get to know your tenants. It will help you in the long run to be more personable. Just getting numbers and using people will come back to haunt you. Gentrification is terrible, and you're deep in the trenches of it. New York used to be a community, now you're just squeezing the life out of it dollar for dollar. Prioritize keeping neighborhoods diverse instead of pushing out original owners to make a buck off of Guarantors (young people with rich parents not a neighborhood makes). Try harder.

Pretty cool building with some huge problems
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, pretty quiet building itself. The 1st floor tenants have backyard space and the top floor has roof access with a great view. Convenient laundry in the basement. Nice, young neighbors.
Cons:
The electricity bills are absolutely insane. There is no gas heat for the building so electricity bills have been well over $600 PER MONTH in the winter. Major issues on this block including drug dealers and users that hang out openly in front of this building and the abandoned building directly across the street. The app to submit issues with the building is super buggy and they're not very responsive.
Advice to owner:
Do something to address the absolutely absurd electricity bills.
