William sucks as a landlord
Pros
-It’s a spacious apartment in a prime location where you have access to either the J or L -instacart and Whole Foods delivers
Cons
-William is a terrible landlord. He has a complex. He says there’s a “silent” owner but he’s registered as the owner. -my roommate had this noise in her bedroom that would keep her up at night and it took him MONTHS to resolve it. She still had to pay full rent despite William promising that he will cut down the rent Bc of the distress it was causing her. -we also had multiple mouse issues for the years (4) staying in that apartment. -he asked me clean the walls and the grounds of our floor when It was not our responsibility in a rude manner. -when we moved in Aug 2016, he took advantage of us and asked to pay a deposit of $8100 (when the monthly rent was $2700 for a 3 bed, 2 bath) -he expected me to pay full rent despite living in a pandemic and losing my job and having 2 of my roommates unexpectedly move out. -he forced me to sign the lease when I was not of sound mind. -he does not know any boundaries whatsoever. He likes to email, call and text outside of business hours -we didn’t have heat in the building like for a few weeks after it was supposed to be on and expected me to fix the problem. -he’s also the type of person who won’t claim he’s a racist but his actions says otherwise. And this is just a fraction of what he has done.
Advice to the owners
Advice? Go to hell. Transfer ownership rights to someone who actually knows how to manage a building.
Comfy on the 3rd floor, lots of storage space
Pros
Good layout and laundry in basement
Cons
The area around is just ok, but there are some coffee shops nearby. Not quite hip but maybe 5 years from being nice.
Advice to the owners
A fix to the old stairwell would go a long way. Not necessary, but would easy sell the building.
