Location: close to trains and lots to do in the neighborhood
Cons:
The 1st floor apartment was clearly a studio or storage unit before they put up some paper-thin walls to arbitrarily divide this minuscule space and call it a 3 bedroom. But the tininess isn’t the worst part...never mind the completely weird layout (no room was square or rectangular, all oddly shaped and cramped like there was no reason or logic for placement of walls) but the old floors were so worn, that there were holes where the knots of the wood were...making the cement under the floorboards visible, tiny bugs crawling out all the time... The common space: a wee kitchen-dining-living room combo with a tiny breakfast alcove has 1 window...right above the trash receptacles outside. There are thermostats but the central AC function was not turned on. It got extremely hot in the summer, exacerbated by the poor airflow (lack of windows) The walls shake anytime the someone entered or exited the building...The building door had no doorbell, keyfob or code, so packages and deliveries often went undelivered or got stolen...the mailboxes are outside, uncovered and not weatherproofed...any time there was heavy rain, the water would seep into the mailboxes, destroying important mail. Asking for any repair or fix was met with the utmost resistance. Better off calling your own handyman for maintenance issues.
Advice to owner:
Fire Asa. Rent this unit (and all of the tiny, stuffy, antiquated and amenity-free shacks in a stack you call apartments) as a temporary, last-resort option to people waiting for openings in other properties you own. 2400/month is a decent price for a 3 bedroom in Bushwick, but this was clearly a studio space y’all thought you could get away with subdividing...not worth even 1k a month.
