hated living here tbh!!!
Pros
Nice kitchen. That’s it.
Cons
Landlords painted over giant mold spot in the laundry room. Landlords entered my unit without proper notification (or even knocking) more than once. They also refused to paint over a gigantic patch on my wall that they said would be painted before I moved in. Landlords failed to fix a broken window and front door for weeks (not sure what happened but it seemed like a break-in had occurred.)
My Worst Nightmare
Pros
Close to the L
Cons
Management is so slow or will never reply. It is managed so poorly that it is impossible for things to get fixed. Issues last months. I do not recommend. Apartments flood, mold on baseboards. The apartment looks nice but do not be fooled. Management is over half the problem and heartless about solving issues (if they don’t ghost you). Avoid Brooklyn Rents at all costs. Apartments all flood and they only have one person managing all repairs. Management never came once there was 3 feet of water in the apartment. Once we drained the apartment there was mold everywhere that they did nothing about. The city came and verified the mold. We fought them to be able to leave and their solution after we left was to board up the flooded area and put the apartment back on the market. I feel bad for whoever lives there now.
Advice to the owners
The owner of these buildings owns Brooklyn Rents, and his son shows the apartments. They are also who you have to call to get anything done. There are no checks or repercussions since the business is a family scam. They mirror your frustrations back at you and make you feel like the problem. Any good reviews you read are because they make you write a review right after you sign for the apartment.
