Central location close to LIRR and AC lines

Cons

The entire building is infested with roaches, centipedes and other insects. Trash is regularly dumped all over the street and the ally behind the building is a disgusting mess with people loudly partying at all hours.

Advice to the owners

Demolish the building .

Started out as affordable until rent increased by $500 in 1 year then another $300 the year after

Cons

Extremely high rent increases. Severe roach infestation despite hiring my own exterminator after monthly useless exterminator visits. Do not deal with dangerous and violent tenants who impact the safety of others. Never manage the garbage and waste outside. Took months to repair a fridge leading to loss of hundreds of dollars of food.

How bad was the noise from the street parties, and did you ever find any relief from it?

There weren’t many street parties when I lived there, but the noise from cars, trains, and especially motorcycles was awful and never got any better. Even if you sleep with a white noise machine and the cars and trains start blending in, the motorcycle sounds in the summer are so loud that they cut through. I also just want to emphasize that this is by far the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in and you absolutely should not rent here, including for reasons unrelated to the street noise (roaches!!!).
