Ok so I haven’t lived at 288 Ainslie St in 3 years, but I saw this ad in the Subway and I still feel such a way that I downloaded this to write this in order to save some people.
Michelle, the land lord is a complete fraud. She has stolen everyone’s deposits year after year after year. All of our neighbors would contact me after I left asking if I got the deposit back. We didn’t, non of my roommates or I did, and the place was left in complete order. All the neighbors would call me after they left saying they never received theirs either and they were looking to go to small claims court.
Years later I was at the post office and saw her standing in line. I found out that she had a PO Box at that post office for her company, this way there was no physical address you could contact or file for when people wanted to go to small claims court. They didn’t know how to find her. I called her out in public and she absolutely went manic, called the police, and said I was trying to hurt her.
The police came and I civically talked to them about the whole situation and they said that they see this all the time, landlords making PO Boxes and never planning on giving the security deposit back. They said it sucks, but next time just don’t pay the last two months.
I don’t feel that’s the way humans should operate, and that we should be able to trust one another to get security deposit back if it’s us.
Advice to owner:
Hopefully you find another career path where you can’t steal from people.
