Nice, but noisy

Pros

Rarely saw any bugs or cockroaches, super was attentive, rent increases were small, amazing afternoon light. Packages were rarely stolen when I lived here.

Cons

It's on Flatbush Ave, so there is A LOT of street noise, while you can't hear other tenants (unless they're blasting music), you can smell them. If someone smokes in their apartment, you'll know. Also the trash cans are on the sidewalk and can get kinda messy.

Advice to the owners

Keep taking good care of the building

Solid apartment but lots of street noise

Pros

Lived here for 10 years and it felt very stable. The management company, Sicherman, was always responsive and sent the super to fix anything within a day. They also lowered our rent one year lol. Relatively few issues over the years, the building lock broke, our heater sucked (but they replaced it), building gas was shut off once, saw 3-4 cockroaches, our neighbor had bedbugs but the exterminator checked our apartment right away. That was about it! The hallways were generally clean, no issues with packages being stolen or anything.

Cons

Street noise. When they do construction on Flatbush Ave and put metal plates on the road, you will hear it aaaall the time! It was maddening dealing with that over the years. I never thought I’d wear ear plugs so much. Also, if neighbors okay music really loud you can hear it, and if they smoke you can smell it.

Advice to the owners

Continue being responsive, reinforce the windows to cancel out noise
