SLUM LORD - DO NOT RENT HERE
Pros
IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE DO NOT LIVE HERE
Cons
There are over 100 violations for the entire building. When all three tenants in all three apartments moved in there was no heat or hot water and dirty from renovations that were not completed because the owner didn't pay the workers they hired. We could not move out because the entire city went on lock down in March 2020. Look up the violations and you will see a record of negligence. My room-mate fell off the balcony on the third floor on June 28, 2020 and almost died due to slum lord negligence - this is all public record feel free to do the research yourself. The slum lord sent people knocking on doors to ask if my room mate was dead!!!!!! The slum lord did not repair the balcony. The city had to come in and demolish the old balcony and add a new balcony that was up to code. They did not repair the second floor balcony so whoever lives there might fall off and die!!! We hired a lawyer and the slum lord filed an eviction against us and when we settled in court the slum lord agreed to make all the necessary repairs according to the violations and they repaired one thing. We could not afford to move out because we had to give the lawyer a percentage of the abatement and pay back rent. The other two tenants in the building hired a lawyer before my roommate fell and the landlord is currently going after the ex first floor tenants for back rent. We had to start calling 311 again and they tried to evict us a second time. These people are disgusting with zero value for human life. We would have moved out sooner but we could not afford to do so after having to hire a lawyer, pay back rent through an abatement, and pay the lawyer 1/3 of the abatement. Thousands on thousands on thousands of dollars later, one repair was made and they attempted to kick us out. There is no heat source for one of the bedrooms and the slum lord refuses to replace the windows or install a radiator. There is mold all in the ceiling from leaks and I guaranteed they will paint over it. There are roaches, mice, flies, and bed bugs. There are also mold issues in both bathrooms. The utilities are out of control - we paid over $500 for Con Ed and $300 to National Grid every month. The first floor has an illegal basement and there is no access to the utilty room without disturbing the first floor neighbors. The tenants on the first and second floor also had issues and hired the same lawyer and we all got screwed over by the slum lord and the lawyer. No repairs were made and we all were expected to pay rent every month. When tenants moved out of the first and second floor they made cosmetic repairs but all the major issues still exist. We still owe Con Edison over $1000 because of the lack of heat or insulation in the windows, floors, walls and ceiling. Look up the building on HPD online and you will see the documented nightmare that is living in this building and renting from this POS slum lord. DO NOT RENT HERE!
