Terrible terrible terrible
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, nice rooftop, laundry in building
Cons:
Management is awful. They never respond to anything and aren’t helpful when they do. Neighbors in the building are awful as well. Inconsiderate, loud, and aggressive. Don’t be surprised when the cops come by once a week to the building because of what other people in the building are doing. There are bugs everywhere all the time. It looks nice on the outside, but it’s a poorly built building. Don’t get drawn in by its shiny exterior. All that glitters is not gold.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive and helpful to your tenants!

Seems nice but a waste of your time, money, and well-being
Former Tenant
Pros:
• New building built in 2020 with an elevator, modern look and feel
• Central AC / heat
• Easy access to a lot of Bushwick’s best offerings
• Close to Myrtle Wyckoff L/M stop
Cons:
There are a lot of things to cover.

The walls are paper thin — when I say I can hear nearly everything my neighbors say or do, it’s not an exaggeration. When you add on the fact that they blast music at any time of the day or night, it feels like I’m directly in the room with them when I’m working from home or trying to sleep. When you add on the fact that they get into fights at any time of the day or night, it adds another layer to the problem. I can’t tell you how many nights I’ve been woken up by loud banging and desperate screaming as my neighbors physically attack each other. Imagine trying to give a presentation while working from home and hearing two people attack each other, not knowing if your coworkers can hear it too. I’m not sending noise complaints to building management every single time they make a lot of noise but when I do, the most that happens is an email or phone call to my neighbors telling them to quiet down. Sometimes my neighbors do quiet down. Sometimes they come out of their apartment, ask the other neighbors if they filed the complaint, and then threaten to beat the shit out of me once they figure out it was me. It’s disgusting behavior that has not come with any repercussions other than an email from management saying they’re sorry that happened to me.

There’s also the pest and garbage problem. Some tenants do not properly dispose of their trash and as a result, there’s a constant slew of flies floating around in the garage area. Some of them make their way into the building either via the vents or going through the building itself because there are simply so many of them at times.

Not necessarily the building owners / management’s fault but the ConEd bills (electricity-only) have been some of the most absurd I’ve ever paid. A cheap month will run you about $100, and that’s with little to no heat or AC running. In the hotter or colder months, I’ve paid bills up to $400. How it’s possible a 1BR apt with 650 sq ft can cost that much to stay cool or warm is beyond me but it’s worth mentioning if you’re somehow still considering living here.

The rent is also definitely above market rate for Bushwick. I started at $2875 in 2022 but rent increased to $2935 in 2023 — I was able to negotiate it down to $2900 when I renewed my lease but you can definitely find a better place for a better price in this neighborhood.

If it’s not clear already, please stay away from this building for your own good.
Advice to owner:
Hold problem tenants responsible and accountable for their actions. Keep the building clean and garbage area free of flies and pests.
