the location is great and the apartment is great when nothing goes wrong. Large fridge, dishwasher, lots of light. The neighbors are nice and mostly respectful
Cons:
The landlord is very stingy. For two years we dealt with a non-critical water leak in the bathroom, which was brought up to the landlord multiple times and it was never fixed. The landlord does not live in new york and there is no on-site super so we were left to do maintenance and deal with boiler issues ourselves. My advice to the next tenants: take photos of every square inch of the apartment when you move in because the landlord will try to keep your security deposit over "normal wear and tear."
Advice to owner:
Provide better services including regular check-ins with tenants and be more responsive to fix problems in the apartment as soon as they are raised, no matter the cost. Learn the rules on returning security deposits because it is completely unacceptable to be charged for normal wear and tear.
