Bldg is located in the center of a side street, so no street/traffic noise. Rent stabilized(afaik). Laundry in-unit & VERY cheap($1.50 each for wash/dry last I checked) compared to neighborhood laundromats. Good heat. Nice, chill neighbors(in building). Neighborhood is equally chill, relatively safe to walk at night but of course at your discretion. Landlords are not rude, trash and recycling is kept out back so you don’t have to take it out yourself.
Cons:
Roaches. It does not seem to matter how often the exterminator comes, both the american(large) and german(small) roaches do not go away unless you take very very serious measures. They will be in your bathroom, kitchen, BED, etc. Landlords can be helpful and genuine ~when they’re around~, but otherwise a bit inattentive and you have to really hound them to create *PERMANENT* solutions to simple issues—if not just fix it yourself. The walls and ceilings are thin so the neighbors can be extremely loud when vacuuming, walking around heavily etc. *Outside* the bldg, one neighbor is prone to having insanely loud parties weekly and *will not turn down the music* at all even if your walls are vibrating. You can hear it from the other side of the building, every weekend all summer long.
Advice to owner:
Be more on top of the roach problem, and other issues tenants bring up.
