Multiple floods took place (over seven!) which resulted in black mold! Owner was not responsive to treating source of problem or in resolving the problem which resulted in significant damage to tenant property, black mold, and health risks for tenants. Additionally, property was billed as two-bedroom but did NOT have a door on “second bedroom” or a closet. Owner also refused to place door on “second bedroom” despite multiple written requests. Ants and roaches were reported by tenants on many occasions and owner insisted this was a tenant responsibility despite tenants informing owner of NYC law for owner to provide pest control services.
Advice to owner:
Take immediate measures to address health and safety risks to ensure any and all tenants have a safe and comfortable living environment. Do not bill for a two bedroom if that is not what your inventory is. Plain and simple.
