Good Astoria building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super is very nice and helpful. He keeps things pretty clean in the common areas and the basement. The laundry machines are kept in good order.
Cons:
The walls are a bit thin and you will hear your neighbors. There were some bugs and mice. The floor in the entryway gets slippery when wet. Packages were stolen sometimes.
Advice to owner:
There is a big difference in the apartments redone and those not. The old ones should be renovated. Having seen multiple of both, the old ones really need this.

Really enjoy this apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super and owners are very responsive when contacted with issues. The super also does a wonderful job with keeping the building clean. The neighbors are respectful and quiet and it’s in an ideal location. Overall, it’s a nice place to live.
Cons:
There seem to be more and more issues with heat in the winter. What seems like at least once a week, the heat is off for some reason and while it’s normally fixed as soon as they are able to, it has been a bit frustrating, especially when needing to get ready for work. Also the elevator is a bit sketchy. It is a pre war elevator and while they are quick to repair when it’s down, residents have gotten stuck in it before.
Advice to owner:
Sending out a building-wide text or email letting residents know if there are heat or other maintenance issues would be helpful.
