Landlord lives in the building and blasts music anytime he wants. Roof leaked and he didn’t fix the ceiling or actual roof, he just put a tarp on the problem area. Water was cloudy and wouldn’t stay heated, it took too long to heat up too. Had roaches and mice that he didn’t do anything about. The tenants managed to catch the mice and stop the roaches. Downstairs neighbors blasted music and allowed their child to scream and bang around. Landlord would pick fights and try to intimidate tentants when there was things needed to be fixed. Tried to have female relatives fight female tenants. Made the living environment uncomfortable. Lost mail, blasts music and yells.
Advice to owner:
Sell your place, you are either a) too lazy b) too broke c) too incompetent to run this building.m

Defintion of Slumlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing at all
Cons:
Although the app is only reporting 7 of the 21 violations this building has. The building is in ill repair (stairs collapsing, fire escape not up to code, pest problems, plumbing issues, water and heat problems, broken windows,(in the incident of a fire good luck using the fire escape) leaking/collapsing ceiling. The landlord claims to be renting a 4 bedroom apartment which is really 1 and 1/2 bedrooms and 2 closets (I guess that’s typical in NY) upon signing the lease the landlord George promised new kitchen cabinets that were collapsing and you guessed it they were never fixed. The hallway stairs leading to the apartment was never cleaned there was dog hair and pest droppings everywhere. If you even asked for the landlord to fix any problems he would become hostile. George has angry issues, would fight with everyone, was loud, obnoxious, would blast music at all hours and it would bleed into the street to the point you heard his music faintly by the N/W train (4 blocks up) extremely threatening and would flaunt his machete. Keep your sanity and stay away from this apartment and landlord.
Advice to owner:
Go to anger management classes and learn to have some pride in your building.
