Building Motto - "Out of Sight, Out of Mind"

Pros:
Building is new with nice features and in a great part of Astoria. If maintained and owners were helpful/responsive, it would be the PREMIER building in Astoria BUT it's quite the contrary.
Cons:
In a year and a half...I think the hallways, laundry room, elevator, lobby (all common areas) have been cleaned and sanitized ONCE.
Building owner is completely hands-off with maintenance requests, "out of sight, out of mind" mentality.
They drag their feet on AC/Heat repairs and basically expect tenants to do the work for them.
They clearly value their Restaurant tenants more downstairs than residential tenants, as the restaurant monopolizes, soils and disrespects residential tenant entrance with their restaurant supplies, furniture and garbage.
Insulation in apartment/building is horrid. Electric bill on average is $500 monthly (twice that of what we paid in a luxury highrise in LIC) just to stay BARELY cool in the summers.
Clearly the owners built the building in the cheapest way possible.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR THE FRUSTRATION.
Owners should be ashamed.
Advice to owner:
Hire a cleaning crew to maintain common spaces.
Treat your residential tenants with respect (considering the rent charged and lack of service offered).
Hold your restaurant tenants accountable for their filth and actions.
Be transparent, open and helpful in all maintenance requests.
