Pros:
The apartment I am in is on the top floor of a two family home and is spacious, well lit and well maintained. The landlord is responsive but keeps a respectful distance and is quite hands off. The bedrooms are spacious and there is ample closet space. An exterminator is sent semi frequently. There is a front yard! The block is tree lined, quiet and mostly inhabited by families and young professionals. There’s laundromats, delis and restaurants and Astoria Park is close by. There are decent transport links; we are close to the N/W lines and M60 Bus.
Cons:
It’s close to the Triborough Bridge so there’s often loud traffic from obnoxious drivers at night. There’s an alley behind the place where children often play but of course this allows for them and rowdy folk to shout and scream.
