Floor plan is fairly spacious 2 bedroom, neighborhood is quiet.
Cons:
Landlord lived on 2nd floor and would constantly text/ask for certain things that I have never been asked of as a tenant. Lived here for two years. Would text me about things such as: leaving a bike outside against the rails (had been for only about an hour, was a friend's bike who was visiting for Thanksgiving), lowering our music at 4pm because his child was taking a nap, sorting the trash, him needing to come into the apartment constantly, needing us to vacate the apartment or stay inside for 24 hours so that he could tile the hallway, and the list goes on. Had to live through around 6 solid months of remodeling/construction. Roof/outer brick was being remodeled for around 3 months, which was constant loud noise starting from 9AM on the weekdays (I work from home). Then he wanted to remodel the hallway walls and floor, which took another 3 months, right before we (his tenants) were to move out. Landlord said that if any wall damage was done he would charge us for it. Really smart idea to redo the walls right before people move out so that we would have to pay for whatever arbitrary sum he thought fit for the damage. The narrow hallway was constantly wrapped in plastic and littered with whatever tools were being used, which was a safety hazard. Withheld about $500 from my security deposit largely because of a light fixture that I flagged to him as damaged due to moving out. I asked him for a receipt from his electrician who apparently charges $250 for house visits and $300 if they had to change or fix something. I never got that receipt, and I never got a copy of my signed security walkthrough papers. Beware.
