The neighborhood is very accessible to public transportation and laundry.
Cons:
The landlord operates a shady and unethical building.
1.During the winter, the tenant has no access to heat control even though there is a dial in their home. The landlord and other tenants (who are family of the landlord) dictate what the temp is based on who they are hosting that night or if they are leaving the building. This egregious behavior was identified on multiple occasions.
2. Despite being very strictly anti-pet, they proceeded to get a dog of their own in a incredible hypocritical and insensitive move. Subjecting tenants to hours of barking with thin, poorly constructed unit dividers.
3. The walls and interior. The landlord constructed a bedroom in a room with no windows and that shares a thin wall with her own bedroom. The only idea I can think of for this decision is spying. One time, I lit a ceremonial incense and she sent a text complaining about it. Meanwhile I can smell every dinner they’ve ever made.
4. Rodents. We expressed that we had seen a mouse and they gaslit us and claimed they’ve “never had this problem”. Meanwhile, there is record of them having this issue and never fixing it.
5. Only cares about making a buck due to her poor investment decision. Shamelessly stole $1000 from me. To steal money in a pandemic from tenants is unbelievable....which, among other things I’ve listed, is why I’m writing this review.
Advice to owner:
Stop scamming people and either be honest about your living space or don’t rent out apartments in your home that you are not fit to serve as a landlord for. People are signing on to have their own home, not live in some weird commune with you and your family.
