super thin floors/ceilings
Pros
I loved the location and the aesthetics of the building, and the size and layout of the apartment. We had a balcony, the kitchen was great, and it was very sunny.
Cons
We could hear our upstairs neighbors feet constantly. The floors/ceilings are constructed with no sound proofing and it's extremely noisy.
Advice to the owners
I'm not sure there's anything you can do about that. Even rugs don't help much.

Faulty, Old Building that Needs New Management
Pros
Location is great
Cons
Management is all but non-responsive on issues such as heat, pests (including bed bugs) and plumbing. You would think that a building that's over 100 years old would be managed by someone who knows what they're doing but Cornerstone Management is beyond a disappointment.
