Mice and unethical landlord
Pros
The location is close to the subway station, the neighborhood and building was generally quiet.
Cons
There was a big mice problem. They lived in the stove and ran around the whole apartment at night. The landlord raised the rent by a huge amount in the end. The neighbor upstairs would hump uncontrollably, like bed breaking, wall crashing humping for hours at night. Landlord entered the apartment to show it to a perspective renter without any advance notice. Basically she just let herself in with a random guy while I was in the shower. Also, the landlord had someone possibly not qualified work on the gas lines in her apartment. It started leaking while she was out of town and almost blew up the building. We had to call the fire department and they broke her door to find the leak.
Advice to the owners
Stop raising rent and get your mice problem under control. And never enter without advance notice, it’s the law!
