Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Debra Cooper reveal a mixed management experience. Positive remarks highlight generally clean buildings, responsive and friendly supers, and attentive door personnel, especially in rent-stabilized properties with desirable locations. However, persistent pest control issues, particularly cockroaches, remain a widespread concern despite regular extermination efforts. Noise and difficult neighbors, especially in certain buildings, detract from tenant satisfaction, with some reports of unaddressed disturbances and insufficient insulation. While some tenants praise management's responsiveness, others describe slow or dismissive communication, especially regarding maintenance and security concerns. Overall, expect decent upkeep with variable responsiveness and ongoing pest and noise challenges under Debra Cooper’s management.

Reviews

Good building with nice super, roach issues

Pros

The people are nice and the building is nice, heat gets very hot but very occasionally it isn't turned on.

Cons

Construction on our apartment seemed lazy, grout breaking off and coming up. We have issues with cockroaches.

Pretty damn bad

Pros

Big apartments, good location, nice super who does his best despite a crap situation.

Cons

Awful landlord, worst I’ve had in 20 years of living in NYC and is just a totally nasty narcissistic asshole. Won’t reply to email, you have to call or go there in person. Says crazy racist stuff, as do their repair people. They do bare minimum or a little less, whatever they can get away with, to keep up the building. They ignore issues with tenants (and there are many) for years until they end up getting worse and worse and end in assaults, court cases, etc when they could have gotten off their lazy rich upper east side butts to do something about the problem before it was a huge issue. They make me consider leaving NYC frequently.
