Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Rick Herman reveal a mixed management experience. While heating and location receive praise, persistent pest issues, particularly mice infestations, are a common concern tenants feel are inadequately addressed. Cleanliness and garbage management vary but are generally moderate, with complaints about noise and neighborhood safety in some areas. Owner responsiveness is often rated low to moderate, indicating slow or insufficient action on tenant concerns. Rent stabilization is a feature in some buildings, offering affordability, yet water and maintenance problems occasionally detract from the living experience. Prospective renters should anticipate basic amenities with ongoing management challenges.

Reviews

Former tenant·Over 1 year ago

Not too bad but definitely room for improvement

Pros

Elevator always working which is great Laundry room is very convenient

Cons

Holes in radiators need to be looked at regularly because of mice problems

Former tenant·Over 2 years ago

Rent stabilized, not perfect

Pros

Large space and rent stabilized, generally clean-ish and maintained, kind neighbors. The super was kind and responsive to issues, and took good care of the building.

Cons

Water was an issue, sometimes the shower was barely working. There were also mice throughout the building even if you kept your apartment perfectly clean. The management wouldn't do more than offer sticky traps.

Advice to the owners

Be more responsive to pest issues.
