Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Alex Goldstein presents a mixed picture. While some Manhattan locations receive praise for management responsiveness, friendly neighbors, and occasional incentives during repairs, persistent issues like ongoing scaffolding, pest infestations, and subpar garbage handling are common. In Queens, residents frequently report noise disturbances, poor heat, and privacy concerns due to thin walls. Several reviews highlight a lack of timely response and unaddressed mold or maintenance problems. Overall, though a few buildings show good management efforts, many tenants experience frustration with neglect, unprofessionalism, and inadequate upkeep, urging improvements in communication, pest control, and building maintenance.

RUN FAR AWAY

Pros

Some of the neighbors are well mannered, polite, and considerate.

Cons

Everything. This is a terrible building management company. The super is atrocious and RACIST. He and his family are living free in several of the units and are known for stealing packages, harassing tenants, and cursing them out in Russian. They will not assist tenants unless they tip large sums for small jobs or for work that was owed by the building i.e installing rail guards and putting locks on doors. This building and many of their other units have a serious infestation problem with mice, rats, and roaches. There is mold in all of the apartment buildings and they will never address it, at the bare minimum they will paint over the area. Their bathrooms are glazed with toxic chemicals. There is no ventilation and the walls are paper thin. The super and the family employed contractors, “NY Galaxy Contractors” all live in the building at every floor. They spy on tenants and have been known to threaten a tenant if they deem them “problematic”. One of the supers daughters attempted to push me down the flight of steps in the buildings vestibule area. I could go on about the lack of professionalism, nepotism, and unsafe maintenance. Management is well aware of the issues and it is so known that even the tenants in neighboring buildings are aware of the theft, unprofessionalism, and pure negligence of both management, the super, and their contractors. Do yourself a favor and google the company to see all of their horrible reviews at their various units. Do not let children live here, their health will decline and management will not give a care in the world.
